Before the 90 Days newcomer Ben Rathbun is already capitalizing off of the 90 Day Fiancé spotlight, but the show’s viewers are not impressed.

90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days newcomer Ben Rathbun is being slammed by viewers after just one episode for his relationship delusions and letting brief fame get to his head. 90 Day Fiancé finally introduced Ben late in the season, as it seems highly unlikely he will connect with the mysterious Peruvian woman Mahogany Roca given the many indications she is a catfish.

Ben was introduced as a 52-year-old father of four who was raised in a strict church that he described as being like a cult. Ben was married to the mother of his children for 24 years before he initiated the divorce. Though he has been catfished before, Ben believes God led him to 24-year-old Mahogany. Ben is now gearing up to visit her in Peru for three weeks, but he has not video chatted with the woman and has only received highly filtered photos of her. However, he believes they are in love, to the shock and horror of his children.

Despite being in his 50s, Ben comes across as incredibly naive to viewers. They were stunned he used his faith as justification for traveling to Peru to see a woman who is closer in age to his children. Ben’s youngest daughter explained that her father tends to get lost in his relationships, though Ben did say he broke up with a different young girlfriend for demanding too much time. Viewers were horrified that Ben told his children Mahogany already loved them after seeing their photos.

Before the 90 Days viewers are shocked by both Ben’s immaturity as a father and evident delusion in his relationship. However, he is also behaving in a manner that viewers have labeled “thirsty.” Ben is busy promoting himself on social media and is now requesting that his followers pay a small fee to message him on Cameo since he’s “overwhelmed” by his DMs. Many viewers believe that Ben is being ridiculous, as he is acting like a celebrity after making a single reality TV appearance. Ben’s desire to chase fame also raises suspicions about why he agreed to appear on the show.

While Ben is being panned by Before the 90 Days viewers in record time, many internet sleuths are busy looking into Mahogany. Viewers quickly uncovered photos of what appears to be the real Mahogany, though the pictures Ben received were heavily edited. Meanwhile, Mahogany claims she is actually just 22 and that she agreed to appear on the show to reveal her dramatic story. However, it may be too little too late.
