After 1000-lb Sisters’ Amy Slaton and Michael Halterman announced their divorce, the couple just shared that they have reached an agreement.

Amy Slaton from 1000-lb Sisters has reportedly come to an agreement with her soon-to-be ex-husband Michael Halterman about their two children, Gage and Glenn. The couple has had a rough couple of years due to becoming new parents and maintaining a reality TV show. This recent 1000-lb Sisters season showed Amy growing tired of her husband’s lazy traits, essentially choosing to move on from her marriage.

Michael and Amy were childhood sweethearts and first met when they were just children. After numerous play dates and kissing sessions in the Slaton family basement, Amy developed a bit of a crush. The two 1000-lb Sisters stars didn’t meet again until Amy was a sophomore in high school, and Michael was a 19-year-old mill operator outside their small town. They finally began going steady and eventually married. Amy and Michael have been married for four years after tying the knot in 2019 while in Tennessee. But what Amy thought would be her fairytale happy ending hasn’t panned out that way.

Who Will Get Custody Of Amy & Michael’s Kids?

According to In Touch, Amy and Michael have come up with a custody agreement that will hopefully work for them. The outlet reported that a Kentucky judge has ordered that Amy and Michael share temporary joint custody of their two sons. The court documents stated that Michael believes he should be given joint custody because he has been a “caregiver” to his two sons since their birth, along with Amy.

Where Amy & Michael Stand In Their Divorce

The court documents state that as of March 13, 2023, both Michael and Amy will have a shared parenting schedule that allows both 1000-lb Sisters stars to be present for their two sons. The judge explained that the ruling was to “maximize the amount of available parenting time” both mother and father got. The paperwork also revealed that there wouldn’t be a hand-off between Amy and Michael, as the judge ordered the former couple must remain 500 feet apart.

Michael filed the divorce paperwork over a month ago and listed the date of his separation from Amy as February 24. Along with 1000-lb Sisters star Amy’s child custody agreement, Michael can’t just enter his once-shared home without setting up a specified time. Both Amy and Michael are also not allowed to bad-mouth one another in public or on any form of social media. Sadly, it looks like Amy and Michael drifted apart after the birth of their children.
