As the two adopted kids are close in age, TLC fans watched them celebrate joint birthdays for years. Can you recall that things were a bit desperate for Trent and Amber when they started the adoption process for Alex? He nearly didn’t get to celebrate birthdays with his sister as South Korea wanted a lot of money upfront. Only a church member who made a large donation made it possible to bring the child stateside. Well, the years flew by, and in August 2020, he and his adopted sister, Emma started their freshman year at high school.

How time seems to have flown for the 7 Little Johnstons‘ stars. Already, Alex and Emma Johnston look forward to their graduation. At one stage, TLC fans thought that Alex might study robotics when he completed high school. However, it seems that he might have settled for a career in broadcasting. Meanwhile, Emma Johnston who originally hailed from China, did well at school and in her senior year she was selected as a dual enrollment student, which means she gets to take classes that count as both high school and college credits.

Amber shared a photo of her two youngest children on Instagram, and it looked like they were dressed for cool weather. Emma looked bright in pink and black, while Alex, who always seems to smile 100 percent of the time, wore blue. In her caption, the TLC star said:
