While Tammy joined rehab and qualified for her bariatric surgery, Amy was overwhelmed taking care of two kids of her own. Her husband, Michael, was of no help, and it also deteriorated their bond. After many troublesome instances, the latter decided to seek therapy for the sake of her mental health. That’s when she found out she’s Bipolar. Many now feel her sister Tammy was responsible for it! Her issues with her husband, Michael, are evident in the show. Fans already know they are divorced now. But as the show was filmed earlier than that, viewers are getting to see their relationship fall apart.

Moreover, there was also news about Amy and Tammy getting into a very serious fight during their family trip to Florida. Things got rather ugly, and they also fought physically. Then, in an interview, the younger sibling admitted she had bipolar disorder, acute stress, and anxiety. She found out about it after going to the therapist.

Apart from the major family feud in Florida, things were already bad at Amy’s household. The first episode of 1000 Lb Sisters Season 5 already featured her feud with her husband, Michael. It was evident that the latter wasn’t helping the former at all to take care of the kids. Things became increasingly difficult for the star after the birth of her second son.

So Amy had admitted to being a victim of mental abuse. While she tried her best not to bad mouth her ex, she did say that by the end, there was no “love, kindness or support,” and she fell out of love with Michael. But she was glad to be showcasing her journey in the show with the hope that it would give women stuck in a similar situation the courage to speak up.
