Michael Halterman of 1000-lb Sisters is now having to think about how he will support himself once he is divorced from Amy Slaton, so what does he do for work? The father of two has come across as lazy and has gotten on his now former wife’s nerves. Most of the time, Michael seemed happy to let Amy do all the work while he sat back and relaxed.
Amy and Michael first met in their hometown of Dixon, Kentucky, when they were both young. From day one, the 1000-lb Sisters star always shared that she had a crush on Michael even though he was older than her. The two would have playdates growing up but didn’t reconnect until Michael was 19 years old and Amy was a sophomore in high school. Michael was the type of country guy who liked to sit back and enjoy a good barbecue. As his wife’s popularity rose, the limelight may have become too much, finally taking a toll on the couple.
How Does 1000-Lb Sisters’ Michael Support His Family?
According to In Touch, the divorce documents that Michael filed have him listed as “currently not employed.” Surprisingly the paperwork also has Amy listed as unemployed, which is odd because she just finished a fourth season of 1000-lb Sisters and should have had a large pay-out from TLC. Growing up, Michael worked as a mill operator at Shamrock Technologies, where he started working at 19. Like many other reality TV stars, Michael also has his own Cameo page, which is currently down, but when it was active, he charged $5 for a message.
