In “real life,” Doubling Down with the Derrico‘s Deon Derrico calls Eric Jefferson his eldest son. But on the show, when they refer to Eric, they just say “friend.” Some of the people that know Deon and Eric are confused.
One of their friends said, “Eric is like your son. Why would you put ‘friend’ on the TLC show?” And to this, Deon Derrico said it seemed like it would be a lot easier if they did it that way. In fact, Deon and maybe the producers think that putting “eldest son” would confuse the viewers of Doubling Down with the Derricos.
After all, the show is about a family with 14 children. If they put that Eric Jefferson was a child of Deon’s, it would then be 15 children and require a lot of explaining.
Eric Jefferson Marries His Sweetheart
One of the things people saw recently was that Eric Jefferson got married in Las Vegas. When Eric got married, Deon of Doubling Down with the Derricos was one of the first to wish him a happy marriage. Fans started to see Eric was very important to the family.
In fact, viewers began to see that Eric Jefferson was at the Derrico’s home a lot. Some people thought he might be a brother or a cousin and were questioning how he fit into the picture. Eric obviously has a great relationship with the children.
Deon recently shared a photo of Eric Jefferson saying he loved the photo of his sonfew (son/nephew) and confused people even more. With more research, it turns out that Eric is, indeed, Deon’s nephew. But he’s more like his son.
Doubling Down with the Derricos: An Exciting Season
This season is already off to an exciting start. With Karen delivering the triplets at 28 weeks along, everyone had a case of the nerves. And the family still worries about the health of baby Dawsyn.
Baby Dawsyn has heart issues and needed two surgeries. But it seems like things are going well for the baby. Deon and Karen Derrico are trying to be with the babies as much as possible. Since Deon’s mother went back to Detroit, it’s been difficult—even with family help.
The father of the Doubling Down with the Derricos family said it might be time to get some extra help. We see Eric Jefferson at their house with the kids, but occasional help isn’t enough—they decide they need to hire someone.
