Fans of the newest TLC show I Am Shauna Rae are familiar with the 22-year-old’s story. She survived a rare form of brain cancer as a child, but it unfortunately stunted her growth. Today, Shauna Rae is an adult, but is only 3’10”. Unfortunately, many people mistake her for a kid.
The show’s first season just wrapped up, but we got to know a lot about the family. For example, Shauna’s mother confessed she’s absolutely terrified that her daughter’s cancer will return someday.

Fans Are Curious About Shauna Rae’s Health — Is Her Cancer Back?
Toward the end of the season, Shauna visited a neurologist. The 22-year-old frequently suffers from intense migraines and the pain stems from the area where doctors removed her cancer.
Her headaches really worried her family — and for good reason.
“I think the cancer coming back is definitely something we both worry about because we know how brain cancer is not something to joke around with, especially the form I had,” Shauna’s mother revealed during an episode. “It’s not a matter of if, it’s a matter of when, so anything that happens to Shauna, we take it extremely [seriously].”

Fortunately, the neurologist didn’t seem to find anything concerning. However, Shauna and her family will still prioritize her health and wellness.
Shauna Rae is alive and well today. She frequently posts on Instagram and enjoys spending time with her sister Rylee. Despite her size, Shauna enjoys many activities that other people her age do. She has several tattoos, loves dogs, and just wants to be independent.
If the TLC star ever has a significant health issue, she will probably update fans on social media. For now, it seems like Shauna is just living her life to the fullest.
Are we ever going to get a second season?
Unfortunately, we don’t yet know if I Am Shauna Rae will be back for Season 2 or not. While fans hope that we get to see more of the sassy 22-year-old and her family, we just don’t have any answers right now.
Sometimes TLC doesn’t tell audience members about a show renewal until the last minute. For all we know, they could be filming the show’s second season right now.
