90 Day Fiancé viewers compare Memphis Smith to Rebecca Parrott due to the bizarre way the Americans speak to their Tunisian partners.

90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 5 viewers can’t help but compare Memphis Smith to season 3 cast member Rebecca Parrott. Memphis and her partner Hamza are currently exploring their romance, a process that is complicated by cultural differences and a massive language barrier. Memphis and Hamza are unable to communicate and Hamza has yet to meet her children.

Despite this, Memphis hopes to marry Hamza during her two-week trip to Tunisia. However, Memphis and Hamza are currently in hot water with his mother Hayet after they were caught in the same bed despite her separate bedrooms until marriage rule. Based on Memphis’ behavior so far this season, some are comparing her to Rebecca and the way she treated now-husband Zied Hakimi.

Memphis and Rebecca both draw criticism from 90 Day Fiancé viewers for various reasons, but they are particularly frustrated with how both women refuse to use proper syntax and grammar when speaking to their Tunisian partners. Though language barriers make it necessary to simplify language for clarity, viewers have urged the ladies to speak in proper grammar and syntax so Hamza and Zied don’t become accustomed to using the pronoun “me” instead of “I.” Instead of speaking slowly and simply, Memphis and Rebecca resort to phrases such as “me think” or “me go,” when it would be just as easy and clear to use the proper pronoun “I.” Viewers find such incorrect speaking to be both annoying to listen to and a disservice to the men who are trying to learn English and are being taught improper speech.

Furthermore, neither Rebecca nor Memphis appear to respect the conservative cultures of their partners. Rebecca made it clear that she wouldn’t adapt herself in any way when it came to Zied’s conservative upbringing. The grandmother put her wedding needs before Zied’s desire to respect Ramadan, and she now sells full-nudity images on OnlyFans despite Zied’s conservative beliefs. Meanwhile, Memphis and Hamza were both called out for disrespecting Hayet. Many viewers are upset that Memphis said she wouldn’t marry Hamza without having sex with him first, since she appears to value sexual compatibility more than Hamza’s potential relationship with her children. Neither Rebecca nor Memphis are expected to adapt to become more conservative, but neither woman showed respect when it came to accepting cultural differences.

While Rebecca and Zied have managed to make their marriage work despite these issues, many viewers are doubtful about the longevity of Memphis and Hamza’s relationship. For one, intimacy is clearly very important to Memphis, and she wasn’t shy about absolutely blasting Hamza’s lack of skills in the bedroom. Meanwhile, Memphis is already off to a bad start with her potential future in-laws due to her need to have sex with Hamza on the first night rather than waiting for a hotel. Many 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days viewers think Memphis is trying to play the victim on social media when she is really just another American cast member who doesn’t respect her partner’s culture.
