1000-lb Sisters star Chris Combs recently underwent weight-loss surgery. From an oversized liver to possible anesthesia problems, it wasn’t a easy road for Chris.

1000-lb Sisters: Chris Combs Wanted Weight Loss Surgery with Sisters

Chris Combs joined sisters Amy Slaton and Tammy Slaton on 1000-lb Sisters. All three are at different points on their weight loss journey

He became a fan favorite, and some even say they want the show name changed to ‘1000-lb Siblings’ to include him.

Chris and his sister Tammy Slaton both want the surgery.  They have seen good results when their sister Amy got her weight loss surgery. Amy dropped 100 pounds.

Chris says seeing Amy be able to make progress was really inspiring. He wants to now influence his daughter, Emily Combs, into a healthy lifestyle.

Tammy Slaton was feeling alone as she and Amy were going to get the surgery together. But now the same has happened with Tammy and Chris. He wanted to have the surgery alongside Tammy. But, his sister has not lost enough weight to qualify for the procedure.

Chis Combs had a hard time trying to lose weight. An emergency surgery performed on his leg didn’t help. He was stuck on the couch and wasn’t sticking to a diet.

But Dr. Eric Smith saw a determination in Chris he did not see in Tammy and approved him for the weight loss surgery.

TLC Star Has Issues

1000-lb Sisters’ Chris Combs had a rough and painful recovery. Dr. Eric Smith said that during the surgery, he saw that Chris had an enlarged liver. It’s a condition that ca be very dangerous.

Also, someone of Chris’ weight are in more danger when dealing with anesthesia.  These dangers are highlighted on this and other TLC shows like Too Large and My 600-lb Life. Usually by Dr. Younan Nowzaradan and Dr. Charles Procter.

When he woke up from the surgery, he saw his wife, Brittany Combs. The 1000-lb Sisters celebrity told her it felt like he had been “beaten up”. Brittany assured him it was just the surgery that made him feel that way.

Chris says that the only thing that relieves the pain is burping or farting. Dr. Eric Smith says it’s because he had to blow up his stomach with gas to see things better during surgery

1000-lb Sisters: How Is Chris Combs Now?

Chris Combs from 1000-lb Sisters had weight loss surgery early on in Season 3 of the show. But now fans want to know how he is doing and don’t want to wait on weekly updates. Chris talks to fans themselves and lets them know just how he is doing.

When one fan reaches out and asks him, “Hi, how are you feeling now that you had your weight loss surgery?” he smiles. He says, “Like a million dollars, every day, baby.”

1000-lb Sisters‘ fans won’t be able to see actual weight loss in numbers until TLC airs those episodes. But, they can at least rest easy knowing that Chris is recovering well.

The video that Chris made, seems to be in the backroom of his job. He manages a fast-food restaurant. This indicates that he might be well enough to be back at work.
