Amy Slaton from 1000-lb Sisters tried hard to change the patterns and habits of her family. Not only is she the first person in her family to succeed with weight loss, but she also got approved for weight loss surgery. And since she’s had the surgery, she’s been able to lose even more weight. Soap Dirt shared about Amy’s progress with her health.
While Chris Combs and Tammy Slaton haven’t been able to lose the weight they needed to get the operation, Amy’s continued to slim down. While the 1000-lb Sisters personality did get pregnant shortly after her surgery, she continued to lose weight. Yet, that isn’t the only family pattern she’s broken.
Now, the 1000-lb Sisters celeb Amy wanted to clean her house up. She shared on the TLC episode that both her mother and her grandmother were hoarders. She also called herself a “hoarder” but doesn’t want to be like that anymore. She said her son Gage is the biggest reason why she wants to keep her house clean.
TLC Star Tries New Therapy
Amy Slaton’s been busy while on the 1000-lb Sisters. Not only is she a new mom, but she still cared for Tammy Slaton. After she hired an in-home nurse to take care of Tammy, she decided to work on her to-do list. As she cleaned up her house to make it acceptable for Gage to play around in, Amy said she pulled a muscle in her back.
So, she and her 1000-lb Sisters spouse Michael Halterman went to try out a new type of therapy. The couple went to an acupuncturist to get help for their backs. Neither of them has ever tried this pain relief method before. Amy said she hurt her back while she cleaned up. And she explained Michael hurt his back while he pushed Tammy Slaton around in a wheelchair.

There’s more progress Amy Slaton from 1000-lb Sisters wanted to make in her life. She has decided to get skin removal surgery. So, she went to the office of a skin reduction surgeon to see how different she would look after the operation. At first, she stood in front of a scanner. The machine took a picture of her face from different angles.

As she sat with her husband, Michael Halterman, she looked at what she would look like before and after the operation. The place she’s first chosen to focus on is her neck area. Fans are excited to see her transformation after she has the skin removed.
