THE Derrico family is made up of husband, Deon, wife, Karen, and their 14 children.

Deon’s mother, Marian, who the family calls Gigi, is also a familiar face that is seen in the Derrico household on TLC’s Doubling Down with the Derricos.

How old is Gigi on Doubling Down with the Derricos?

Gigi is the children’s paternal grandmother and is often seen helping Karen take care of the kids.

While not much information is available on the lovable grandma, as of September 2020, Gigi was 70 years old.

While Gigi has always been the supportive grandmother, when Deon and Karen announced that they were expecting their 15th child, she was not shy to voice her concerns.

However, it was later revealed that Karen suffered another miscarriage.

Did Gigi have Covid-19?

In June 2020, it was reported that Gigi, Karen, Deon, and all 14 children had tested positive for Covid-19.

While the Derrico’s did everything they could to protect themselves and their family from contracting the virus, baby Dawsyn was one of the first to test positive.

“She’s beat pneumonia, the flu, two heart surgeries, what is this now?” Karen said about Dawsyn after she tested positive.

“My mouth dropped to the floor. I could not believe it. We have been doing everything under the sun to stay safe in this house,” Karen added. “Not only does someone in this house have it, but the one we really don’t want to have it, tested positive,” referring to Dawsyn. 

While the family has since recovered, Dawsyn and Gigi were both at high risk due to their health history.

Dawsyn was at a higher risk due to her recent heart surgery while Gigi was at a higher risk because she is a cancer survivor.
