Steven Johnston calls himself the jack of all trades. The 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way cast member has written a song for Russian girlfriend Alina.
Steven Johnston will reveal a hidden talent when he proposes to Russian girlfriend Alina in Turkey on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way. Steven, who still doesn’t know what career he wants to do even though he’s all set to get married to Alina, considers himself a jack of all trades. But so far, Steven has been proving he’s the best at being a 90 Day Fiancé villain for mistreating Alina. Steven has made many demands from Alina, who in turn is unsure of whether she should marry him after his cheating scandals. However, will it be Steven’s original song that makes Alina say yes to him and forget about the 100 girls from his past?
The previous episode of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way was eventful for Steven and Alina’s storyline for many reasons but mainly due to Alina asking Steven to delete his social media. The Novosibirsk resident also confronted Steven about inviting her friend Masha to Turkey and asking her to bring a swimsuit along. Interestingly, Steven has not deleted his Instagram account, which he claims Alina has allowed him to keep. However, Steven’s Instagram doesn’t give away many details about his past except for a few photos of Alina that he’s recently unarchived and plenty of travel photographs.
More importantly, Steven’s social media doesn’t reveal that he can apparently sing and play the piano, which is how he’ll ask for Alina’s hand in marriage on a boat. A preview clip for 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way episode 10, posted by ET, shows Steven planning a grand secret proposal for Alina. Steven admits that he’s “always been hesitant to commit,” but the sole reason they came to Turkey was to get married. The Mormon man plans to go to a waterfall with Alina, and once they reach there, he will get on top of the boat and start playing the piano before asking the question. “I’m really nervous. This is my first time ever writing a song,” Steven admits. “I’m going to be performing it on one of the biggest days of our lives, so hopefully I don’t choke,” says Steven, showcasing rare affection towards Alina.
However, Steven appears to have changed overnight after deleting his Facebook as he now believes that they’ve “been through a lot of hard things together” only because of his behavior. But Alina still retaining her faith in him has assured Steven that “she’s the girl” he wants to be with forever. “Because who else would believe in me like that?” he emotionally asks. Steven has also been hiding the engagement ring for Alina in a sock in his suitcase the whole time. “I wanted to make sure that I felt ready to give it to her,” he confesses.
The surprise proposal for Alina appears to be well-thought-out by Steven, which comes across as a shock considering how manipulative he’s been in the past. Still, if Alina does say yes to Steven, it means that the couple could be married by the end of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 3. It would also mean that, despite the array of red flags that Steven has displayed so far, Alina forgives him and disappoints fans. One of Alina’s biggest complaints about Steven has been that his words and actions don’t match. Perhaps Steven putting his words into a song is what helps him convince Alina that he’s changed once and for all.
